What to expect?
The inverted postures of yoga are some of the most beneficial yet intimidating of the asanas, and yet really can be accessed with proper prep & an open heart. After warming up, you will be guided through alignment, technique and modifications of postures including:
- Downward Dog (yes, it is an inversion!)
- Standing forward folds
- Shoulder Stand Sequence
- Headstand Variations (Bound, Tripod, Leg Variations and more)
This will be a complete yoga practice, and will include counter poses and savasana. We will also have time for questions during and after.
Why practice inversions?
Inversions are wonderful for defying gravity and helps drain fluid from the legs. Even though you will feel your heart beat faster inversions rest the heart and promote more efficient exchange of gases in the lungs.
On mental and emotional levels, inversions help you to overcome fear. Trusting your own abilities and trying new things are all lessons that can be applied to life!
