Vinyasa Flow: Creating a safe practice for life

Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Inhalation is usually connected to upward, open movements, while exhalation is often tied to downward movements or twists.

The continuous movement of vinyasa reflects the impermanence of all forms and the necessity of accepting change to achieve balance and completeness.

Join Melissa for this two hour workshop combining movement, education and discussion on vinyasa specific topics including:

-The roots of Vinyasa Yoga
-The relationship between breath & pace
-Troubleshooting common transitions
-Finding basic postural alignment in key poses
-Flexibility & Strength
-Group discussion: Ahimsa (non violence) on and off the mat

Melissa & Lucy have partnered to create the ultimate relaxation experience. This fusion class will incorporate elements of breath, gentle flow, and restorative yoga, in a sequence designed to restore the nervous system and relieve chronic tension.

During the restorative portion of the class, each student will receive several minutes of hands on massage with Lucy.
