I came to yoga like so many, for the asana practice, for the exercise. I wanted to burn calories, tone my muscles, maybe even have that ‘yoga body’. It didn’t take me long to find what I was looking for, although what I was looking for was much different than I originally expected. I found the quiet space on my mat and in my breath to be present within my own life. Through my yoga practice, I have found a sense of real connection to my true self, and to everyone and everything around me. My heart has opened to so many different expressions of love. Gratitude finds me much easier, hope is never far away, and compassion for others is always close by. This is what I love about yoga and this is what I hope to inspire in others through my classes: connection, openness, gratitude, and compassion.
