1. What originally brought you to yoga?
I bought a Groupon! Like so many people, I first came to yoga for exercise.
2. What keeps you coming back?
I think I’m addicted! I love the way I feel when I’m done with asana practice! I come home and feel relaxed, patient, and excited to be in my own life!
3. What is your favorite asana and why?
There are so many to choose from! If I have to narrow it down, I will say virabhadrasana because my heart is open and I feel strong all at the same time.
4. What do you love about Seva?
Seva offers a truly genuine space to practice yoga. The instructors are there to help me be honest with my practice and do what’s best for my body. They inspire me to challenge myself in a safe and healthy way.
I also love the ambiance of the studio space and the variety of classes offered here.
5. What do you bring off your mat from your practice?
My practice helps me remember who I really am! Yoga cultivates strength, balance, and flexibility in my body and all these things extend into my life as a whole as well. I am a more patient, loving, and accepting person because of my practice. I feel more grateful and more intentional about my time with my kids, my husband, my family and my friends. My life is so full!
6. Favorite Book
Wild by Andrea Strayed Her journey was so raw and so present! Reading her story reminds me of the beauty we miss when we go too fast. I think it might be time to read this one again!
7. Favorite Place to Visit
I guess my favorite place to go is a little park near my house, Provin Trails. It’s not far away or exotic but it’s a peaceful place I like to go with my family no matter what season.
I love food! Seriously, there are very few foods I don’t love! Beans and rice is a cold weather favorite for me but in the summer I love quinoa salad or fresh fruits and veggies!
